Srta. Gallegos
Granada, Espana
_Ms. Gallegos holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and English from the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She earned her teacher's
certificate and Masters of Arts in Education through the Chicago
Teaching Fellows program. As an undergraduate, Ms. Gallegos studied
abroad in Granada, Spain. She has lived and traveled extensively
throughout Spain, her family's native country. Ms. Gallegos leads annual
Payton Spanish immersion trips with her colleagues in the World
Language Department. Destinations have included Granada, Spain, Oaxaca,
Mexico, San Jose, Costa Rica and Buenos Aires, Argentina. She also
sponsors the Junior Class Council and is the 2013 Class Dean. She has
taught Pilates, Spanish Classical Guitar and Peace of Mind, a course on
mindfulness and meditation, for Payton's seminars. Ms. Gallegos loves
working with Payton students and sharing with them the splendor of the
Spanish-speaking world.
